I have downloaded gaim 0.74 and i want to use it for Yahoo and MSN.
For compiling with SSL support i downloaded and installed the
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/security/nss/releases/NSS_3_8_RTM/src…
nss packages as told in the FAQ of gaim.
Then i configured it with command
./configure --with-nspr-includes=/nss-3.8/mozilla/nsprpub/pr/include/
--with-nspr-libs=/usr/lib/
--with-nss-includes=/nss-3.8/mozilla/security/nss/lib/nss/
--with-nss-libs=/usr/lib/
....
But still the configure script says:
checking for Mozilla nspr4 includes in
/nss-3.8/mozilla/nsprpub/pr/include/... ""
checking nspr.h usability... no
checking nspr.h presence... no
checking for nspr.h... no
checking for Mozilla nspr4 libraries... no
checking for Mozilla nss3 includes... no
checking for Mozilla nss libraries... no
.

SSL Library/Libraries......... : None

Hi Krishna,
I have successfully used Realtek 8139b setup for the same card. Should
work for you too.
No idea 'bout PXE or dhcp-3. Sorry.

Hi,
I'm struggling with DFE-538-TX card for diskless setup. Can anyone
suggest which bootrom chip should I try.
Will PXE and dhcp-3 will work with dfe-538 Tx cards? I'm not able to
find ATMEL and EERPRO in the market.
Thanks

It can use both IIRC.

It is best to go through your local sendmail regardless, because
sendmail will handle queueing if you send mail while offline.

Yes, there are several sendmail howtos for dialup connections. I've got
one on the db.ilug-bom server, and suresh ramasubramanian has one at
hserus.nethttp://db.ilug-bom.org.in/lug-authors/philip/docs/Hdr-Env-Masq-miniHOWTO.txthttp://www.hserus.net/sendmail.html

If you see an onion ring -- answer it!
first of all, i would like to wish all gnu/linuxers a very happy and a
prosperous new year!
now coming to my problem:-
i recently installed RedHat 9 on my m/c. i also have RedHat 7.3 on a
separate partition.
when i logged into RedHat 9, even the simplest shell scripts, like
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#tmp.sh
#!/bin/bash
echo "sdjfljsd"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
don't work after i do: -
$ chmod +x tmp.sh
$ ./tmp.sh
but this works:-
$ bash tmp.sh
the first case gives the foll error:-
bash: bad interpreter .....
when i log into RedHat 7.3, and try to do a "chroot" to the "/" of the
RedHat 9 partition, i get the error:-
bash: Permission denied
i even tried copying /bin/bash from RedHat 7.3 to RedHat 9, but it did not
help.
any help regarding this problem would be greatly appreciated.
thanks for the help!

I want to get broadband internet access for my wife's parents in the
Chembur/Kurla East area of Bombay. The idea is to get more bandwidth
for communications like voice and webcam.
While searching the net for info, I discovered this group and read the
thread on Powersurfer. There was a lot of info hard to find elsewhere,
such as the facts that average speeds can be 8-10 kbps, the back-end
bandwidth is 2 mbps, and it can take months to get service after signing
up because they need a minimum number of users in an area. So it looks
like a good idea to start a discussion in this group on what's going on.
If any of you have experience with broadband in Bombay, no matter whether
cable, dsl, or wireless, I'd love to hear about it. For example, what
average speeds are you getting? How reliable is the connection? What
troubles did you have getting set up? How responsive is the customer
service? How are the reputations of the various providers? Is it really
superior to a dial-up connection? Are there other things you wish you
knew before subscribing?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

/bin/sh or the current shell will be used. /bin/sh is generally a
symlink to /bin/bash (it *must* be a link to a POSIX compliant shell.
csh is not POSIX compliant)
