Hi all, the government has ordered all ISPs to block www.hinduunity.org for its explosive content against the minorities. the picture on the site's main page shows christians including the Pope and bearded mullahs stabbing what seems to be like Mother India - all because the BJP government was voted out! Hate content apart the larger question remains about the government's efforts to muzzle free speech. I have accessed the site through www.guardster.com . unfortunately anonymizer.com has turned paid. Are there any tools which I could install to help me bypass these blocks and access blocked websites? I could install these in a linux computer later. Shiv Kumar

getting graphical login in debian

I have installed debian testing/unstable using the netinst cd image to boot into a minimal debian system and then have downloaded and installed X and KDE. The problem is that I am unable to get a graphical login screen. The bootup messages say that kdm has been started but but I still get the text login prompt. On shutdown kdm is shown as not being shut down as it is not running. I can manually run kdm by /etc/init.d/kdm start. I have removed xdm and installed kdm. I did a dpkg-reconfigure kdm. To no avail. Kdm is set as default display manager in /etc/X11/deault-display-manager. I have the initdefault set to 2 in /etc/inittab. Changing this to 3 or 5 does not help. I have looked at the logs in /var/log/Xfree86.0.log but couldn't find anything. What am I missing ? regards, Sharukh -- Dr. Sharukh K. R. Pavri. Homoeopath, Linuxer. Problem executing 'at' command

Hi guys, I have this unusual problem. I am not able to use 'at' command, I get following error message mailed to me : >From root(a)localhost.localdomain Fri May 21 20:40:01 2004 Date: Fri, 21 May 2004 20:40:00 +0530 From: Latesh K Galia <root(a)localhost.localdomain> Subject: Output from your job 30 To: root(a)localhost.localdomain ** CRITICAL **: Unable to open display I've one more PC connect to Linux box which runs on Windows 98. I connect it to Linux via Telnet and tried running 'at' but same problem persists again. I want to execute applications via Telnet on Linux but 'at' isnt working, though I am able to kill the running applications remotely. Is there any otherway so I can execute applications remotely via Telnet. I dont want to use VNC. Thanks in advance. No init found

Currently running RH9 and kernel-2.4 I downloaded kerne= l-2.6 source and installed it. Now at boot up I get an option for Kernel-2. 6 but when I select it "No init found use init=option " error o ccurs. I am using GRUB. My 2.4 is working fine. Any idea= whats gone wrong.
