Hi, What parameters do you think would be most relevant for generation of an invariant for a particular hardware setup? I can think of only one, the MAC address. Internal Modem Drivers

dear friends , My name is SHIRAZ RAJWANI this is my very first e-mail to our linux groups . I am an bombay university IT Post Graduate . In the second semester of our course we were supposed to make projects.I was interested in making a device driver for internal modems but i was told that there were no internal modem drivers made for linux and my project was changed from linux . I use debian linux(Knoppix 3.3). Also linux does supports external modems .Can i get source codes of any internal modem drivers for linux . Following discussions and talks were conducted. * Free Software and Intellectual Property Rights: Mr. Subramaniam Vutha and Ms. Nappinai from the Technology Law Forum gave an excellent talk on a very controversial and debatable topic "Free Software and Intellectual Property Rights". It was more of an "Open Discussion" rather than a talk. With dinesh, jtd, sameer popping up their question onto speakers, we went short of time. Hey Guys, Sherlock(a)vsnl.com mentioned the important aspects of hardware and there's other stuff like IRDA, Camera and Bluetooth which I can think of now. These are not really necessary at first stage but we cant overlook them. And AKAIK FBUS connection is generally used for transferring Pics, tones and logos n stuff and MBUS connection is used to Unlock the cell. A Flasher cable is used to Flash the software to Cell. Can anyone get ARM disassembler as I've the software for 3310 and other utils which are used to flash the software to 3310 and I guess is the ideal and inexpensive cell to start off.
