Plz check. http://www.novell.com/news/press/archive/2004/05/pr04034.html. Para#1, 5th line seems to suggest that the connector works with M$2003 as well.
Cheers

Hi All
I have installed Debian Woody 3.0r4 and I am having problem
configuring PPPOE, I am dual booting and I am able to use
pppoe under Red Hat 9.
Can anybody point me to some good link for configuration of
pppoe, yes I have checked google. I referred various docs and
tried various options but still no luck. Infact I had done
same exercise earlier (around 6 months back) but was never
successful.
Is anybody through with the configuration of pppoe under Debian
Woody (Mumbai)? Can anybody help me or if possible can I speak
to someone on phone and get pppoe configured.
Thanks...
--------------------------------------------------------------
p.s.
Yes, I have Debian 3.0r4 (CD 1 - 3) and anybody interested can
collect and duplicate the cds, I am located in Kurla, Mumbai.

Just run pppoeconf. When u r prompted for changing the default mtu
select no.Check your /etc/ppp/options file and make sure that the
mtu is commented out (default mtu = 1500) as your previous
configuration could have changed that. That should solve the problem.
If not reinstall pppd and then run pppoeconf.

Clickhere clickthere. That is all they know. But the technician from
the ISP got very interested in GNU/linux after seeing it in action
(Opened a mail with some .scr worm) and understanding the rudiments of
a GNU/Linux based service model. I will be giving him woody and knoppix.

I get following error when I tail -f /var/log/messages | grep pppd
Remote message: E=691
LCP: timeout sending Config-Request
I tried all mtu settings, also changed user name in all files
i.e dsl-provider, pap-secret to loginname(a)domainname.net. Also
I added -C AccessConcentrator name but no luck.
My cable operator (Rajeev Video / Kurla) is not in a position to help me.

i made a change in line 228
default line is
if [ "$AUTOFSCK_DEF_CHECK" = "YES" ]; then
changed line is

What is the error ?. I just setup one box for a friend with pppoe.
modconf (pppoe).
Ran pppoeconf and entered the username and passwd. That is all.
Did not change the mtu. The isp's (Aakash sion) server refuses to
change the mtu.

Forgive my ignorance here... I really don't think it's an ISA Card. But I'm not a h/w wiz. What is the diff... please enlighten so that I don't ask this again.
Anyways, It goes into a PCI slot I think.
Also no spurious interrupts, the c file won't build. I don't have the o/p right now.. I'll mail it tomm if reqd
Methinks it's not in the right place ... missing headers or something
the driver file mentioned that the files should be copied to /usr/src/linux in 6.x
I don't find such a dir on my m/c. Do I have to create it ... don't see that working
Thanks for reading

forgot to ask - is it an ISA lan card? If so, you will have to manually
install it - if you confirm that it is ISA, i'll tell you how

Hey, in case you hadn't noticed, the linux-india.org site is slowly coming
back to its feet. Where're some statistics, followed by requests and
finally some dos and don'ts:
STATISTICS
==========
Users: We have 68 registered users now. I don't know who you are, but
thank you for registering and trying things out.
LUGs: We have 6 LUGs/GUGs/FSUGs/GLUGs registered. More entries welcome. The
LUG list is at:
http://linux-india.org/index.pl?iid=2198
TODOS
=====
1. Please learn how to use the portal. MetaDot is an extremely powerful
online portal, and you can do incredible things with it without once having
to (a) leave your browser or (b) have administrative rights on the site. You
can add all sorts of interesting stuff (RSS feeds, formatted HTML, JS,
FAQs, News items, forms, polls, etc.) to your own site, and you can have
multiple pages within your site.
1. If you're a LUG, please send me your entry.
If you don't already have a web site you can create an account and your
complete web site within your account on linux-india.org itself.
If you already have a site, please do create an account and at least a
single page in your account that summarises your LUG. Send me the account
information and I'll link your page to the main LUG page.
2. If you're a user, please create an account and populate your site. If you
feel your site is of general interest, please send me your user ID and I'll
be happy to link to your site from the Users' Pages section. Let's get some
content on!
3. If you're a well-wisher with 1/2 hour per day to spare, please handle one
or more of these sections:
News
Press Releases
Job Postings
Job Requests
Events
You will become the contact point for that section and you will have full
administrative rights within your section. More than one person can share
the load of handling one section -- it's group-based.
I'm currently handling the security section. However I'd be glad to hand
that over to someone else if anyone wants it. Another alternative would be
to hand it over to one of the Linux Security News RSS feeds.
4. Keep the feedback flowing in. Suggestions on how to improve the site,
useful new sections, etc. are welcome.
DOS AND DON'TS
==============
Please DO look at the site, figure out how to use the system and add
content.
Please DO NOT add content that is not Linux- or FLOSS-related. Of course,
you can add whatever interests you in your personal page (e.g. I have
received a request for a Tsunami Relief page), but try to stay at least
loosely on topic :)
Please DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT add any content that violates the
laws of India or any other country. CD images or activation keys of Winduhs
XP Home Edition are completely ruled out, as is pornographic material, links
to not-free-to-copy materials on the 'net, etc.
Please DO NOT send me feedback about how the site design sucks, how the
colour scheme looks ghastly, etc. If you are willing to add content, please
go ahead and do it. If you are only coming up with alternative suggestions
on portal systems to use, forget it -- I have done the best within the
constraints that are available to me and I'm not really interested in
looking at or evaluating 1000s of other portal systems. Each person has her
own favourite and I really can't keep up with the gazillions of portal
systems that are released each month.
