I'm gonna be old-fashioned here.. I'll believe it when I see it.
But in the teeny weeny chance that it's true, MTNL just shot up
another few miles into the stratosphere above the other losers

Hi
I am trying to install Oracle Applications on Fedora
Core 4.
I am not able to get the Oracle universal installer.
It gives the java null exception error,
Java is loaded on the computer.
when we gave java-version, it gave the java version.
When I give xclock, it shows me the clock.
Thanks,
Ajay..

How can I change the gtk 1.2 themes? I got gtk-engines-industrial with
apt, but cant change the theme of my gtk 1.2 apps (xmms, Audacity, Vlc
Player, etc.)
I tried to change the theme with gtk-theme-switch package and also by
manually editing ~/.gtkrc file.
I cant see any change in the above mentioned apps.

So do we, all the time. ssh to your unprivileged user account and use
sudo.

True!
What you actually should be doing is log in as some user (who has
restricted account) and then "su".

For different distros, default sshd options may vary depending on how it
was compiled and packaged. But you can prohibit root logins by
specifying option in /etc/sshd/sshd_config
------ sshd_config (or whatever sshd config file is) ------
PermitRootLogin no
------ ------
Usually root login is allowed using sshd.
