FC6 and Display Problem

Hi, I installed FC6 on Intel Core2 Duo Processor with Intel 946 chipset.When I installed at first time it get installed with normal FC6 kernel but when I installed after few days it will get installed with "fc6xen" kernel. What it stands for? Also when I am trying to change graphical mode(X Server) to text mode(80x25) and vice versa by using ctrl-alt-F1 and alt-F7 the display gets stretched or flickering. Some time shifting of graphics to text mode and vice versa is perfect by mostly it is abnormal. Even shifting during shutdown/reboot has the same problem. How can I solve this issue.Please Help. Problem with running a long process on apache

I can run a script as the linux user apache. But when I try to invoke the same through a web-page running on the server (I am using the php system command) it does not execute, and I get a return value of 127. This script takes really long to run, can run for several minutes sometimes. I am clueless about why this is happening... Provide a lot of links too. There may be brochures available on the net but lets do it our way. The author has interviewed many of the wireless chip manufactures and gives an insight into the issues surrounding wireless card drivers for Free and Open Source Operating Systems. He suggests the main issue is the lack of communication between the developers and the manufacturers. Take this into account when you buy a new wireless network card and support the companies which provides specifications and documentation to the Free and Open Source Operating Systems developers. how to uninstall kubuntu

i have a dual boot wth kubuntu/win 98 on my system. both are on separate hard disks.in kubuntu it shows all the hard disks(i.e, drives used by windows as well) but in windows it does not show me the kubuntu installed drives. now i want to uninstall kubuntu, how do i do that? had the drives been visible in windows which is definitely a drawback, i wldve formatted the kubuntu harddisk, but since it does not show me the drives, how do i uninstall kubuntu ? ____________________________________________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? uninstalling kubuntu

my dear brothers, the issue was not of not being able to view linux partitions on windows, i just wanted to know how does one uninstall kubuntu. and for the record, to the person who said he does not see me using any of the gnu/linux versions, i am using ubuntu right now instead of kubuntu. i could have very well installed ubuntu over kubuntu, but i thought knowing how to uninstall it would add to little knowledge. anyways, thank u all for the help. i got it done. thanks again ____________________________________________________________________________________ Any questions? Need inputs for FOSS Hospital Management Tools

Hi All! I will meeting a charitable hospital management tomorrow. They want to migrate to FOSS technologies for their hospital. This hospital caters to about 1000 OPD cases on daily bases. They already have some accounting, attendance and payroll software running on MS Windows. They would also like to know if the same can me run on the Linux (GNU/Linux) system. I would like to get inputs from people who are associated with health care industry what are the components and tools required for Hospital Management. Are these tools available in FOSS. [OT] FUD against CAS

Hello Everyone, This mail is not meant to create any controversy or flaming. It is to simply highlight the FUD article that was printed in today's Mumbai Mirror under the title "Shock in the box". A PWD certified electrical engineer has stirred up a FUD against the Conditional Access System and DTH set top boxes by claiming that they consume high amount of power. The vested interests are trying their level best to scare people from migrating to CAS which will empower them with the freedom of choice. This engineer goes about with a tong tester and has measured a current of 500 mA in his set top box while another reader claims to have measured 1 A. This translates to 110 Watts and 220 Watts. The paper has even produced photographs of the engineer using the tong tester. They claim that this will increase electricity bills by 150/- per month. The first stupidity of this engineer is that he is using a tong tester to measure currents in mA. Tong testers are meant to measure high currents in thick power cables that cannot be disturbed, not domestic appliances. For normal current measurements, an ammeter is connected in series with the power cable and the unit is powered on to measure the current flow. I measured my DTH box's current and it was only 35 mA which means a power of 7.7 watts at 220 volts. I have been using DTH since 2 years and never had any increase in power bills. So those who want to switch over to CAS or DTH in Mumbai need not worry about the power consumption. Signal processing does not consume too much power. Sending a file through SMS.

Hi. We have a unique requirement. We have some unix/linux servers which generate a very small status file every hour. We are then required to SMS this status to some people. Is there any way we can automate this process? The recipients cell is on the Reliance network. Basically, we need to sms a linux text file to a reliance number every hour. Any suggestions?
