any memo writing and summarising tool for a local intranet in linux

Hi all, Am looking for a simple utility or opensource tool which can send memos from one computer to another or multiple others in the lan --the issued memos/correspondence can be grouped/searched or indexed/ summarised later with a regex tool. I would like to know if there are some opensource tools in the windows world so that future adoption of the same tools under linux becomes easier once migration takes place from windows to linux in an organisation/department The following are there AFAIK egoupware phpware something also crm ticketing systems etc or the mailman email server or chat utilities but your user experiences and recommendations would be more appreciated since real world experience is very valuable. Care to share a few words. Thanks Kussh

iRedmail ... error Relay access denied - pls help

recommendation for a video capture / TV Tuner card

I am looking for a video capture card (composite Audio/Video - three wire RCA connectors - yellow, red, white) or TV Tuner card (RF) that is supported in Linux. Please share brand/model if you have purchased something (@ Lam Road) within the past 6 months or so and works for you in Linux. (I realize bttv chip set is well supported however it is difficult to find out the chip set without opening the box which the vendors typically do not allow). TIA -- Arun Khan

Hello, Just as we have Mailman as the software for our list, could we have a similar FOS software that allows web based replying inside the message itself, like many other sites where the user logs in and replies to the messages using a reply button. The reply box has the original text which is edited manually by the user in the browser itself. Many forums use this method but I don't know if there is a FOSS for that. If it happens, users of non confirming email devices can use their device browsers to log into the web version and reply in the correct interleaved pattern. -- Regards, Rony. GNU/Linux ! OT: open office usability

This is a post related to usability of Open Office Suite. Open office has emerged has one of the best alternatives to MS Office (while Google Docs is still maturing) There are few elemental things not available in Open Office which makes its use little more rough Most important being, Inability to change slides with arrow keys . I don't understand why OO people are not implementing this simple feature. Is there a copyright issue or programming difficulty (?) Second being, compatibility with MS Office 2007 files (esp. .pptx). With these formats being more than 3 yrs old, it should start supporting it fully. Open Office 's saved ppt files change in orientation and design when opened in MS Office, not talking about templates (can be really troublesome). Few more smaller issues. Hi, I have a DG+Squid setup on CentOS5 I have been trying to block streaming video but unsuccessful.
