hi,
I have been invited by one of the more pro-active engineering and
manufacturing associations of the country to present a paper on the role of
open source in helping our country compete with the best in the world. This is
a great opportunity, because normally hard core manufacturers and
industrialists have no exposure to such things. I do not have too much
experience in these areas and request everyone to give inputs on this so I
could make a dent in this sector.

Needs brute forcing, will take years if its a complex password. If its a
dictionary password, then you have that twitter admin event on your hands
again.
They could steal it off the network thread if you're not using secure SSL
or someone else's internet. That takes minutes. But you'll be accessing the
account, so I don't think thats what you're looking for.

Hello,
I have come across people who know people who can easily crack into
facebook and gmail accounts. There are computer courses run by some
reputed colleges in Mumbai where hacking (sic) is taught as a subject
and those students can crack others' accounts. They don't need access to
the other users' machines. Simply give them a user id and they crack it.
They do it as ethical testing for friends.
How much of this is actually true and how easy is it to crack gmail and
facebook accounts without the user's machine being involved?

GNU/Linux !
No Viruses
No Spyware
Only Freedom.
On paper the NComputing L230 looks promising, claiming compatibility
with Linux. Their "middleware" desktop virtualization software posted
on their website is for only one distribution specifically Ubuntu 8.10
(which has seen end of life).
I installed the "middleware" software on Ubuntu 10.04 (as I did not
have a 8.10 install handy) but the whole install is hosed and I have
lost my 10.04 desktop! Sure I may be able to recover the installation
but not without loosing time.
I am downloading 8.10 and will try out the middleware on that platform
later in the day.
Would like to hear about your success/failure experience with
NComputing L230 and Linux desktop virtualization (please mention
distro name/version/arch).
Thanks.
