Please mention the role in the subject line of the mail. *Quality Assurance Engineer* As a Quality Assurance Engineer you are expected to set the quality standards for a small product or, for a significant area of large product. You are expected to develop test cases and test plans for areas of ownership and, would be capable of directing the efforts of 3 to 4 quality engineers. You should be able to effectively and accurately communicate testing status to management and other interested parties. You should be able to interface with customer and partner quality organizations and, can be relied on to exercise good judgment around critical issues. You should be able to work with developers to resolve issues and analyze data in a timely manner. You are expected to process in-depth understanding of the testing processes and standards. Primary focus is on API, WebUI, and client tool testing. Job Requirements: Test Automation and Development Job Requirements: * Knowledge of how to use a defect tracking system (JIRA or Bugzilla preferred). * Knowledge of how to use a revision control system (Git, Subversion,or CVS preferred). * Good skills in at least three of: Java, Python, Perl, BASH, or Ruby. * Previous experience with automated testing tools. * Expertise in Selenium and/or JUnit a major plus. * Demonstrated skills in Linux systems administration. * Basic knowledge of database usage and ability to write SQL. *JBoss Operations Network Quality Assurance Engineer* JON Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As a Quality Assurance Engineer for JBoss Operations Network, you will be responsible for expanding our existing test automation framework, as well as evaluating and implementing new Open Source tools to verify the quality of the product. The job will have you working with an international team of Software Developers and fellow QA Engineers. Primary focus is on WebUI automation and agent testing. Will be responsible for writing test plans and test cases for assigned functional areas. Will then be responsible for running manual tests, writing automated tests, and running automated tests. Also responsible for writing, verifying, and closing bugs on each version of the product. JON Job Requirements: * Knowledge of how to use a defect tracking system (JIRA or Bugzilla preferred). * Knowledge of how to use a revision control system (Subversion preferred). * Ability to read and write Java code. * Previous experience with automated testing tools. * Expertise in Selenium a major plus. * Demonstrated skills in Middleware and/or application servers. * Basic knowledge of database usage and ability to write SQL. *Satellite and Proxy Quality Assurance Engineer* Satellite/Proxy Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As a Quality Assurance Engineer for the Red Hat Network Satellite and Proxy products, you will be responsible for expanding our existing test automation frameworks, as well as evaluating and implementing new Open Source tools to verify the quality of the product. The job will have you working with an international team of Software Developers and fellow QA Engineers. Primary focus is on API, WebUI, and client tool testing. Will be responsible for writing test plans and test cases for assigned functional areas. Will then be responsible for running manual tests, writing automated tests, and running automated tests. You will need to be able to work with other teams in implementing integration and maintenance of Hudson continuous integration environment. Must have a willingness to be involved in manual testing as needed (but minimal). Will be responsible for writing test plans for feature areas and then writing, executing, and automating test cases. [OT] Reliance Broadband ( Broadnet )

Hello folks, I was in Mumbai recently and thought of getting an additional internet connection to have better redundancy. For all those who are MTNL's religious followers, I decided to minimize the use of their connection primarily because of their lack of support ( 2 months of horror ) and ADSL is extremely sensitive to noise. MTNL's plans are also pretty costly as compared to Reliance's. Reliance provides connectivity through cat5e fiber in my area ( Andheri West ). They also provide ADSL connections but only in certain areas. I did have a Reliance connection but I disconnected it primarily due to the haphazard nature of their service and lack of reliability. But now they have professionalized their customer support ( atleast yelling at times yields extremely good results ). They have also improved the reliability of their network - they have battery backups and all :P Previously they relied on the horrible WAN setup by BSES powersurfer. Coming to the technical aspect of this thread, they have a really annoying login system ( which is a big security threat as well ). They basically rely on their DNS servers to authenticate the user. For example, if I'm not logged in and I type google.com, their DNS server returns an internal IP ( 10.x.x.x ) and they issue a 302 redirect so the browser is redirected to a login page. This is where you enter your credentials and you get logged in. This is a very annoying method of logging in the user but now-a-days many ISPs prefer it! On Linux you have the option of using a script called AutoLogin to keep you logged in 24x7. Heres the gotcha! This connection wouldn't work when I connected it to the WAN port of my wireless router ( Netgear WGR614v5 ). The problem was / is that when my router gets the IP and DNS information from the DHCP server, it ends up with 4 DNS servers but it remembers only 2 =P The first two are vanilla DNS servers while the last two take care of redirecting and logging in the user. So the router was querying the vanilla DNS servers and it never redirected me to the login page. They also have MAC address binding in place =P -- Regards, Dinesh A. Joshi

May be not with the name, rather with the deployment. When we build and distribute Desktop Applications, end users assume that they can just install the application through a setup file and its done. When they want a backup, they just need to click on a "Backup Menu Item" and enter the "Save As" file name. These are the perspectives of end users. Now it doesnt matter if we use My-SQl or any other DB, the users are concerned with ease to deploy.... Bye Regards

Socket Program Clustering

Hi, Is there a way to cluster a socket program? I have been assigned a task to cluster the program which connects to server using a socket. The purpose is to get the redundancy of program (i.e. if program fails on machine A machine B should take over). We need this as this is the program which has the routing logic based on the input received from the server it routes the request to different application. Wiki CDs Wanted page is protected

Hi I understand that the CDs Wanted page has been protected due to repeated vandalism by bots from the WWW.When is it likely to be opened up?And since the wiki is based on the wikimedia engine,can't we have semi-protection allowing registered accounts to edit the page?After all,if one has no need of the CD posted earlier,(s)he should be able to remove the request. Eventually I realized that they converted my 20K premium to EMIs and started charding me EMI.... On calling them they denied of not making me aware of EMI. When asked for cancellation of Policy, they demanded 70% of the premium as cancellation charge. I launched a complaint with Core.nic.in and also sent a mail t ICICI Lombard grievence department demanding the recording of my call with Lombard during the time of purchase... They retrived the recording and as I said they realized that I was not made aware of EMI. Finally they agreed to cancel the policy and gave me complete refund along with Service charges. *Now here's what you can do... Call up Reliance and ask them to provide you the recording of the telephonic conversation between you and the executive where he/she assured you about the FREE service. If they deny launch a compliant stating that you are not provided information. If RTI act covers telecom, then go ahead and file RTI suit against them.* *I was told that my money is gone, but I got it back. You just need patience and right move. All the best.* Bye Regards

Never buy a Reliance Telcom product

Hi, After much research I purchased a Reliance Netconnect broadband but to discover there pathetic customer care. I have written a my experience on my livejournal blog, http://jangid.livejournal.com/27778.html, so that others are not cheated. Pasting it here for readers' convenience. /* I had applied for Reliance Netconnect plus wireless internet service on 23rd of March. And that was the last day for getting the 2 month bundled unlimited usage (10GB) free; that is worth Rs 3500. The next day I have got a call from RCOM that I am eligible for this offer. The official also asked me if I would like to see a demonstration of the wireless device. I said yes and after seeing the demo, at my home, I agreed to purchase this. I paid Rs 3500 to the dealer for the device on 04/04/2009. I got the device and connection was enabled. Everything was good. The problem begins. Contrary to my belief that I'll get Rs 0 bill for the first two months, at end of the first month I have got a bill, of Rs 383, from RCOM. The bill amount should have been Rs 0. I have registered a complaint with them. I haven't got any response. Instead I am getting regular calls from RCOM for non payment of bills. Every time I get a call I tell them the full story. And each official agreed to resolve my issue. Now one day I planned to visit my native place, Jaipur, to meet my parents. I was hoping that my business/work will not suffer because I can work remotely using the device I purchased from RCOM. I reached Jaipur and discovered that my internet is not working. I called up the toll free number of RCOM (1 800 3000 5555) and learnt from the official that my connection is deactivated due to non payment of bill. @#$#$%&%. I also learnt that a new bill is also generated for the second month. The second bill is of Rs 1125. Again the bill amount should have been Rs 0. I again registered a complained. I was told that the problem will be resolved in 24 hours. I had registered my grievance at the Consumer Online Resource & Empowerment Centre (http://www.ccccore.co.in/ or http://www.core.nic.in/).
