Try ramfs. That's a file system that will allow you to store the files
in RAM. It's pretty interesting and very fast! Used that for some
project earlier where we kept the MySQL data in the RAM ;)
Here's an old but interesting article:

We are working on such a system under our Radix Solution platform. There
are some interesting open source projects in this area - ThinStation,
NetStation, DietPC, PXES and some more.
ThinStation (http://thinstation.sourceforge.net) is the one we liked the
most. You might want to try that out.
We can also look into collaboration possibilities if you are interested.
Let me know.

Nirav.

hi all ,
due to some reasons I cannot store the various log
files in the hard disk... I don't need to store those
log files in permanent memory (i.e. in disk), i can
afford to loose after the system is switched off....
So i want to know how store these access log files and
error log files in some temporary storage area.... can
any one tell me how can i do it.........
