You might have noted that current release is Developer Version Release, it doesn't have stable OS and working applications. But with moderate hardware, its priced currently at 300$. I presume father would need a properly working phone. If you need fully working OpenMoko, you can wait till October and getter retail version at 450$ with better hardware or even you can get Linux based Motorola ROKR E6 currently at INR 14000/- with 1 GB Card. If you are interested in the developer version and jumping into upgrading OS in October, do let me know. I am happy with hardware that current model as its priced 300$, won't be interested in paying 450$ for little better hardware. Consider the scenario: A touchtone IVR system with a variety of menus and options. Assume you are a service provider of some kind and your job is to find out the balances of each account of your client list. (or any other information). All the information pertaining to the IVR system and the client exists in a DB. Can an application be written such that it will dial in to the IVR and for the relevant clients (as determined by some other set of logic) in an automated way and extract the information needed after navigating through the menu on its own? It does not have to translate the audio output into text/numbers but just record that important bit. Anyone tried something like this in php/perl? HI All I am trying to install per-razor-agent on my postfixserver. With yum i am not able to install it cause it cant fid the packages. I tried with the rpm command ---- I ge the error "mockbuild does not exist" What does it mean. H! List, I am planning to buy a PCI Wireless card. I have Debian 4.0 installed with kernel "Linux debian 2.6.21-2-686 #1 SMP" I already have a card from surecom - "01:02.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8185 IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 20)" 01:02.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8185 IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 20) Subsystem: Surecom Technology Unknown device 13f2 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 12 I/O ports at c000 [size=256] Memory at dd002000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2 but I could not find the driver for this card without upgrading to Ubuntu 7.04 with linux-restricted modules. Please help with hardware RAID detection in Fedora 7

Hi, I have a Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard which supports hardware RAID. I have installed Fedora 7 on the first SATA hard disk (sda). Now I have added two more identical SATA hard disks and configured them as mirrored RAID in BIOS. In the OS I can still see them as sdb and sdc and not as one single disk. My vendor tells me that I have to reinstall the OS for it to detect the RAID disk. I do not want to reinstall as I have done lot of customization. Can any one please help me in configuring the RAID without reinstalling the OS. Any pointers would also be welcome. Thanks and regards. sadhu

hi all I am configuring postfix with mysql and postfix admin , i have creating a directory stucture to store all the domain name and user names ( eg :- /home/vmail/domain.com/user1/Maildir ) , but the thing is when i am creating the domain through postfixadmin it is only it is only creating it in the database. It dose'nt creat a actual physical location in the harddisk. Also when i am telneting to port 110 frm localhost I get the3 following error [root@server3 postfixadmin]# telnet localhost 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1). Trivial Graphics programming using Svgalib and C (GCC)

List, I have created a How-to for using the Svgalib with C. Svgalib is a graphic library (low-level) that offers basic functions for graphics programming. In the past, I was trying to find out an alternative to writing C programs for graphics under any distribution. Under Windows, I used the Turbo C++ 3.0 compiler (IDE) using the graphics.h file which provided ample of functions for trivial graphics programming. When I discovered Svgalib, I found that I could do /almost/ everything that I did in Windows. There are essentially two sides to this: 1. It is no longer possible to give shallow, throw away, "easy" talks by telling everyone how great FOSS is, or giving them the ABCs of MySQL, for example, and then carry away the "speaker at FOSS.IN" tag. 2. There are no talks that introduce people to FOSS concepts. I am less bothered with (1), but (2) is an opportunity for the LUGs to benefit from the publicity that FOSS.IN inevitably has, and to provide a truly useful service. How about a "Get ready for FOSS.IN" series of LUG meetings? One where people are introduced to the basics, and the applications and various focus areas that you know are going to be covered in-depth at FOSS.IN? We can all work together to get a sane set of topics and goals in place. In fact, the folks at NRC-FOSS at the Anna University should be able to help quickly get something like this together. The end result of this will be that people who *need* newbie talks and orientation get it (remember, it's four months to the event), and they therefore will get so much more out of FOSS.IN than they would otherwise. I am cc'ing the Goa LUG and the Bangalore LUG on this note, but any LUG that wants to be part of the campaign can happily join in. It would also bring about something that has been sorely missing all this time - the Indian LUGs working with each other. Note that this wouldn't be a FOSS.IN-coordinated thing, but an initiative by the LUGs. The meetings would be the normal LUG meets, just with a topic of getting people upto speed on FOSS matters. The "Get ready for FOSS.IN" theme would simply help focus the efforts and provide a goal for people who will want to attend the event in December. Even if they don't actually attend the event, they will have benefitted tremendously from the acquired basics. Pointmen for this would be the LUG coordinators, NRC-FOSS people (Dr.Srinivasan), community communicators (Fred Noronha) and of course any community member who would want to contribute. People could even travel to other LUGs to make take sessions there. And of course FOSS.IN will provide the publicity it can to these efforts. RE:Grub error 17,cannot boot into Ubuntu

Hi all, I had installed openSUSE 10.2 on my system a few days ago.SUSE was installed on 2 primary partitions hda3 and hda4 having mount points / and /usr respectively.hda1 is my Windows C:\ and hda2 is an extended partition containing 4 partitions for Ubuntu for the following: / hda7 5GB /home hda8 11GB /boot hda5 141MB swap hda6 1GB and Windows D:\ hda9 10GB I had shared my Ubuntu home partition with SUSE taking care that the login ids of the users on the systems were different so that my files on both the systems were not embroiled in a web of conflicting permissions by the 2 OSs. Since I didn't like openSUSE too much,I removed it the only way I knew,ie by deleting the partitions through Disk Management on Windows XP. Since GRUB was broken too,I reinstalled GRUB through Ubuntu 7.04 Live CD and edited the Ubuntu fstab and GRUB's menu.lst to reflect the renumbered partitions(I'm assuming they were renumbered by the deletion of the hda3 and hda4 partitions,that's what I can make out from the Live CD fdisk –l). Since then, Grub shows me error 17 and tells me it "Cannot mount the selected partition".I have gone through the Gentoo forums threads regarding this atleast 5 times and they couldn't help me. Also,I tried removing the UUIDs and replacing them with the partition numbers for the root field of the initrd row(of course after backing up).No go! I also tried successively replacing the root (hd0,X) with all the Linux partition numbers.Didn't work out.Since my root partition contains symlinks to the kernel,Grub showed me error 17 for that too but for the other partitions,it showed me error 15(File not found).Can someone help with this? Regards, Easwar PS:What's surprising is that Grub can boot windows but can't mount the partition it itself is on!Right now,my menu.lst contains the UUIDs and has root (hd0,4) which is my /boot partition(ext2,others are all ext3).

However, I am not able to edit the wiki front page. What do I need to do to edit it?
