TOMCAT SERVER ADMINISTRATOR : Thorough experience and ability to Administer, Fine-tune, Migrate (& everything else involved in ensuring that the server with 4,00,000+ hits per day works and works), and lead a team of 3 such engineers. Three engineers are required. The Team-leader will be sent to US site initially for a month and will then manage things from India (Delhi). 2. LINUX INTERNAL SYSTEM ADMIN: If you have the confidence of knowing "everything" of Linux; If you can build and crash Linux; If you can administrate any kind of Linux server; If you can lead a team of System admins who will work on different kinds of servers; If you can lead a team to manage a Multi-location network, get back to us. Tally ERP on Linux-OpenSuse 11.1 Works

Dear Linuxsers, I have installed Tally Erp 9 on wine using OpenSuse 11.1 on a regular AMD Athlon Desktop.It work well. Now My issue is how do I load Opensuse to eeeBox b202 pc which has only usb based external drive. Previously I have used Unetbootin to create a Ubuntu Interprid loader.. When I use the same method for Opensuse it just does not boot gives an error /ubkern corrupt ? I have used the same ISO to make the DVD to load the other computer Please help me with this , At least a lan based installl should be possible But I don't know how to ? A question on security.

Hi All, Today a friend of mine showed me a security feature in Windows XP, which to my knowledge is not available under Linux.(Please tell me I am wrong). So here goes, he showed me a security feature in Windows XP wherein the user can setup a custom access to their own files and restrict access to others, including Adminstrators. Is there a way to do so in GNU/Linux systems (for root)? As I am not aware of any means, I was not able to give him any answers. This feature came to light when we were discussing our Company's adoption of IS)-27001. He has also claimed that this is also the reason why Linux adoption in Enterprises is very low. [Commercial][X-Post]Required: Software vendor to create application for NGO (Mumbai based)

Hi, An acquaintance of mine works for a Mumbai based NGO[1]. They are looking to replace (and add additional features to) an existing application that they use to record and manage their data (I don't know the exact details about this yet). The current application they use was built by a couple of guys using ASP+MS SQL. They do not have the source code for the current application. So, they are looking to: a. Replicate all the functionality of the current application. b. Migrate the current data to the new application. c. Add a new module which provides a workflow similar to the existing one. d. Design the application in such a manner that allows addition of further workflows. e. Provide support and feature enhancement (for something like 5+ years) They also would like to share this application with their offices worldwide if they find it useful enough for their purposes. I strongly recommended that they go the Open source way by asking whichever vendor they choose to provide them with the source code under a FOSS license. I further recommended that they insist on building the application using FOSS (for instance, a LAMP stack). Now, since they are non-technical per se and it seems like their original software provider is no longer 'available', they need guidance/advice for the specifications itself. So, here's my request, can somebody in Mumbai ... a. Be willing to visit this organization, take a look at their existing application and advise them on the best (FOSS oriented) approach to take ? (It'll be nice if someone can do this without slapping a consulting fee on them). b. Build this application and provide the required support (This, of course, would be a regular business contract). Obviously, (a) and (b) can be the same person/company.
