The speech is an introduction to software freedom. This is a prerequisite for understanding other more detailed speeches that he gives.
I guess in IIT Convocation Hall, TIFR & Symbiosis Vishwa Bhawan in the last decade or so he has given the same speech. By which I conclude that the developer base in India has not grown. You were one of the founders of Mumbai LUG now GLUG. And now you are the First person of FSF-India.
I guess you have been just preaching about 4Laws of FS and its not linux its GNU/Linux and its not open source its Free Software. Can you send a reply about the CS research projects done after FSF India accepted your leadership. Attitude reflects leadership. And leadership is all about attitude. Do you understand the significance of my statement or its just another string in your inbox.
You wont understand them unless you understand the meaning of software freedom. You are assuming that most of the audience already know them.
My question is have u measured the impact of the previous recitations. Or you are a actor in the character or vice versa.
did you read his article on software patents, ACTA, articles on GPLV3,
on cloud computing, web services? it seems you haven't. These are are updated speeches which are not given to new/novice audience. subscribe to the free software news letter, where you will be updated on RMS's new speeches and writings. then you will come to know about the other stuff. visit: www.gnu.org and read the latest stuff.
I am an Information Architect. Tell me what is free software to do with Cloud Computing or Web Services. Cloud computing is the domain of big players like Amazon, Google and probably not Microsoft.
Your remarks in the other mail that he is lone soldier is not correct. free software movement is spreading into almost every continent during the last 25 years. software freedom is being protected and defended and we are going stronger than ever.
I use a Mac, I used to use Windows and then did install some or many distributions of Linux on it. I don't use a single free software or open sourced project.
Linux or GNU/Linux or open source or free software is used in invisible computing systems. I think I am right on this. Ask me again if you don't get it.
