Is it via P4M266. what is the problem?
I have two boards with power on problems. The battery (the regular
suspect) was not the problem. will be sending both back.
We generally sell 845 chipset boards for P4. Mercury was very nice and
stable but their onboard lan started giving problems. In one new machice
it was not detected at all even in their own bios. Mercury guys directed
the engineer to download a patch for the same in windows. In one more
new board, the LAN would not connect even after all drivers and
everything was ok (win), even the lights were ok. The board had to be
replaced. In another new board there was some other problem too can't
recollect what but the board had to be replaced.

Never had a problem with the lan check your RJ45 male.
Everything was fine except that the board had to be replaced (the older
pc worked fine on the same cable) and then the same loaded HDD was used
and lan was working properly in the replacement board. These are alarm
bells indicating that its time to avoid a certain batch of otherwise
good hardware.

Rony.
