only god can create.
I like the word incarnate.
Man modifies, enhances, develops.
From orangutan to homo-sapien to maybe mammals of today.
Linus did not create linux - he modified minix. RMS did not create GCC - he modified an existing (pascal?) compiler. He did not create emacs - he put together a bunch of existing scripts (some of his and some of others), enhanced and modified them. We of the foss community recognise this fact and it is from this recognition that we do not assert ownership on the software we produce (note: produce, not create).
You mean FOSS Community who either creates documentation or gives patches or bug fixes or writes features or designs interfaces. How many linux kernel contributors do you know. I know Linus Torvalds and I have seen a snap of the team who develops and maintains the linux kernel. I think it is a Redhat team.
Now Create vs Produce. To create is like to give a start to a formation and in turn produce the image or the message, which may be well read, perceived or used by the observers or the users or the contributors and distributors. What do you say on this.?
can you create information? or is it meerly discovered ?
oh look i discovered the sequence of bits that cause my computer kill every cat in a 10 meter radius ...... pay me 100 bucks for every cat that is killed using this awesome sequence of bits ........ till the end of time ....... Muahahahah im gonna rich (maybe even the richest man in the world).
it burns to a never ending philosophical debate ..... like almost all other philosophical debates.
