Hi V, I too had a similar problem,I reconfigured the ethernet interface through yast -> advance options in network interface -> manually changed the mtu to 1500 and that solved my purpose.

This is the error that i get after i type ifup eth1 and then try to connect to the ISP configured in my DSL services.
