I had a look at the threads in their discussion list as far back as 30th Oct and the impression I get is that it is indeed being managed quite professionally. Wishing all the success to Linux Bangalore/2002.

We do wish them a lot of success on the same. Hope the participation grows by leaps and bouds and people all over the country get to know abou the same.
We have a lot to learn from the same and get proactive in our approach towards laying the groundwork for our initiaives to succeed.
Is it possible to arrange for a Linux "Expo" here instead of a conference?

Hm....Expo/conference. The Objectives of the same have to be well defined. Once we are done with the main objectives we will be able to linearise the whole effort and be able to get things moving towards having Bombay's First and only Gnu-Linux Expo.
Though i should tell you tahir, your idea of an Expo/conference on the lines of the LinuxWorld held every year in San Jose will be a real neat effort to SHOWCASE our cause to the masses in India.
We can have a conference as part of the expo. There are quite a number of companies doing development on Linux and they would be glad to show off their wares. The success, of course, depends a lot on how far the news can be sent and how well we can manage the event. What say folks?

Perfectly fine....I am all guns for this. But before we even procees we have to set our OBJECTIVES and plan accordingly Luggers.
Bye for now and have a nice day.
