you can go deeper by spending time to understand the topics that are of current interest are opposition to software patents, DRM, ACTA and policing the Internet. please see some of the essays at gnu.org and also at EFF site.
I am actually interested in knowing if i should be spending my time by coming to the most respective institution in the country, that is if I can add any value to me or to the event of speech.
