All you have to do is run a "chkdsk /f C:" (or whatever drive) from Windows, and it will mount properly on the next reboot.
You can force mount the partition as Puneeth Chaganti suggested, but this may lead to data corruption if you write to it.
There is also the ntfsfix command (in the ntfsprogs package) that can be used from ubuntu as an alternative to chkdsk in windows. However this is not an exhaustive tool & may not be able to fix the problem.
