"Weird Al" Yankovic had several hits in the past but could not get his newer works published by the music overlords. So he published it on the net.

Which brings us to the DRM worm and gplv3. does drm protect copyrighted works or merely extends tenure of crooked monopolies on distribution. Recently Yoko ono (wife of beatles John Lennon) sued a music company for deliberately misstating sales (and hence royalties) - a rather difficult propsition with online downloads.
