hi,
nrc-foss @ au-kbc is planning to introduce low cost entry level certifications in languages/tools like perl, php, python, ruby, mysql and postgresql - anyone interested in contributing to formulating/running such certifications, please contact me offlist. Hi Kenneth,
I would be interested in running the certification classes in Mumbai.
we are not doing training - we will be only conducting the exam
With due respects, how much will the NRC FOSS Certification have market value or add value to my or anyone's career ?
Why should anyone who is self taught be interested in this certification, or put in so much time and effort to acquire this certification ?
This certification at least makes some sense if it gives an opportunity to the tutors to earn a honest and ethical living (either full time or along with their jobs) out of FOSS. Thus they can learn and mentor others who are in need of assistance.
When I do a certification, I have only one objective and that is to use the certification (hands on experience and certifications are altogether different matters as we all know) as a leverage when I hunt for a job nothing more nothing less, and how much can this NRC FOSS certificate achieve this objective especially in the current market scenario ?
Regards,
