Hello All,
The beginner's Linux brochure is finally complete and exported from Scribus to pdf format. I would like to know where I can post these files for anyone and everyone to use at their own free will, as well as give feedback on any mistakes. The page format finally selected was 2 A4 pages in landscape format and folded into half to give a total of 8 half size pages, like a booklet. The pages will be bound together at the folds. The A4 size will make it convenient for printing on home colour printers too. The pages are meant to be transparent so I am planning to use coloured paper for final printing as it saves a lot on background printing. The penguin picture in it is hand drawn by looking at a ready picture. The original tux was naked so I gave it a suit and bow tie.
Regards,
Rony.

I think, you have your directory on the glug-bom.org server. You could put it or anurag could do it for you, when he has time.
I think, the wiki will have the contents modified now and then, and may be we could have versions of this brochure released from time to time. Just a thought!

I don't have the link to that page. After logging in, I found a link called 'special uploads'. Anyway, the db/wiki page is painfully slow and just hangs.

Most certainly. Kenneith had metioned about different languages too. However, the PDFs are direct printable versions.

Rony.

Great job! There's a few tiny errors like spelling mistakes (harmfull, usefull, etc). It'd be good if you could run it through a spell checker.

Where did you see it? I only managed to upload one file as it allows only one file. I have 4 to upload. I tried to upload a tar.gz of the folder but that format is not accepted. Can you post the link to the file you saw?
Regards,
Rony.

Well you've succeeded in uploading all of them without even realizing it ;)
You can check if all the files have been uploaded by looking into the 'Recent Changes' section. I got the links from there.

Also, I've added software descriptions to the Desktop Linux article if you'd care to look at them :)

Thanks for the links. I think Anurag may have uploaded them for me as I had sent him a set off-list. When I tried, the last file uploaded was only visible in the parent directory. Anyway, I had earlier added some information about mini linux distros for the Desktop Linux article. Puppy Linux and Damn Small Linux.

Rony.

Based on your Desktop Linux article, I added a tiny list of equivalent software for commercial use. Its on the 3 rd pdf file. I have also uploaded the tar.gz of all the 4 scribus files that can now be edited in other languages too. It is at http://db.glug-bom.org/wiki/index.php/Image:Linux_Brochure_Scribus_Files.tar...

Try both addresses:

On a good time at least one of them works. Now is not one of them though.
