Hello All,
I have posted a report on the BoF held on 5th October 2006, on the wiki. It is available on the following URL.
http://db.glug-bom.org/wiki/index.php/Report051006
Mr. Rony and Mr. Krishnakant, please go through it and suggest if any changes have to be made.
I had a great pleasure meeting Mr. Krishnakant again, and Mr. Rony for the first time.
Birds of the same feather flock together!

Cool, how come only three of you turned up? I thought Kenneth Gonsalves was interested in meeting folks.
About women in FOSS, you should probably check out linux-chix India. There are quite a few around.

Hey dude, your excitement is understandable, but surely you should have something more to say than just drool? I'm sure you agree that its a misuse of bandwidth and Other People's Time if you type replies such as the one above or "I agree" or "I dont know the answer". Whats the consensus on this?
thanks abhishek

There you go...OT discussions waste more bandwidth :P
And dont start ranting about bandwidth or else I'll start ranting about the pathetic BB situation in India ;)

There were more. I was told the BoF was cancelled, and I returned after reaching upto Dadar station.

BoFs generally cannot be cancelled.
Yes but cold water can be poured on them. I was looking forward to meet Kenneth.
If more than one person turns up, the BoF is on.
Hmm.
Regards,
Rony.

Eek. I hate such fancy smancy places, with fungi spores pouring outa the ac duct.
and anounce two weeks in advance.
Any day other than Sunday is out. Rest of the week karate or work (read faffing in the right places). Next time should fix up at Mama Kane's at dadar. Was a good place aeons ago with good cutting and great wadas. And is equally far from everywhere.

The big birds who organized the meet canceled it without informing on the list. Krish and I went to the venue in case anyone turned up and was feeling lost and luckily Roshan got company. We discussed linux and had birdy 'num num' then went home.
Next time if the meet is at 7 pm, lets have it in an illuminated area like a coffee shop. Five gardens at night is used by couples who want to do things they cannot do at home.
Regards,
Rony.

My apologies to all those who turned up at five gardens and those who had to return back midway. Due to several factors, it didnt work out as planned.
Next time we should try meeting _only_ on weekends :)

in the morning i checked and only two people had confirmed - both of whom had attended the andheri BOF. My net connection went down and i couldnt post to the list. So I phoned Anurag and asked him to post a cancellation. Apparently he didnt. Then I went to sleep. At about 7 i was told the meeting was on - but 7 bungalows to 5 gardens starting at 7 would put me there at about 8.30, so i said i couldnt come. My apologies - but the andheri bof was great - Roshan, please post the minutes of that too.

When was the Andheri BOF announced on this list?

it wasnt - it was fixed up over IRC at #linux-india on freenode. I find IRC more effective than mailing lists for fixing meetings

I was under the impression that it was an informal meet with MU students to discuss the implementation of NRC-FOSS in Maharashtra.

But was it open to anybody who wished to flock? :P
yes, but the bird in question would need to have a homing instinct

Without an announcement that is not possible, is it? :)
yet to see birds using mailing list anouncements - they flock together by instinct ;-)
