Why 6.2 is more stable.

Defined as the sharing of computer resources and services by direct exchange, P2P computing is enabling a new wave of applications with the potential to revolutionise the way computers are used. Napster, Scour, Gnutella, SETI@home are examples of successful P2P applications. In this seminar, we try to answer the following questions with respect to P2P computing: What is P2P? Why P2P? What is it good for? What are the various issues in developing a P2P application? About the Speaker: Vivek Mehta is currently working as a Staff Scientist in the Knowledge Based Computer Systems (KBCS) division at NCST. He works on projects in Natural Language Processing like Machine Translation and Natural Language Interfaces. I dont know but this should help. For details read man pppd. Use ipparam as 'wvdial' parameter in wvdial peers file. This will be passed as sixth parameters when ip-up is called. In ip-up.local check for this field. If it is 'wvdial', then wvdial is active else it is not wvdial. And then call ncftp accordingly. Amish. Vinod Bhaskar wrote: >in my ip-up.local file. How to Check wvdial is active

Hi friends, I have given the command ncftpput -u diehc -p ***** ftp.cfg.net /tmp /tmp/abc.txt in my ip-up.local file. (This is for automatic upload of file to my ftp site.) I am using kppp and wvdial to connect the net. What I need is the above ncftp command has to work only if I connect through wvdial and tt should not work when I connect the net through kppp or any other dialer. How to do that? Please suggest. In my opinion we are short of developers, we probably should stress on this when RMS is here and we have lots of people interested in doing something good. We need to arrange for workshops and seminars on development on linux just after a few days after RMS visit and inform everyone about the same when RMS is here (May be at the RMS speech at VJTI). How to Append in a file (FTP)

Hi friends, I have a web space and I am using ncftp function to upload the text file on web. (Eg. abc.txt) . Next time when I upload the same file, the old file get erased. Instead of erasing I want to append into abc.txt. I have used ncftp using -A option for doing that. But I have received an error that " Server is not permiting to Append/Restart Try again. The file abc.txt is having full access permissions. Please suggest me the alternative. I am able to append in to a file ( abc.txt) through the php modules available on web. But when I do through FTP, append mode is not working. Regards Vinod.B
