HP Laser Jet 1000 Not woking

Hi Friends, I wonder if somebody can help me to make my HP LJ 1000 (USB) Printer work on Red Hat Linux 9.0 / Fedora Relese 1 / Red Hat Enterprise 3.0 any one of them. I have tried with all these versions of linux. kudzu detects the printer ...it installs the drives .... but when i fire a file to print nothing happens .... the appears for few seconds in printque and the disappears ... In doing these seminars, we incur some costs and so far the group members have been bearing this personally. We have this idea of charging the seminar members some nominal entry fee, somewhere in the range of 20 to 50 rupees. In these seminars, we'd also be distributing copies of knoppix or similar stuff. Which brings us to the point in question. During one of our discussions, a question came up as to whether we, a bunch of enthusiasts, were authorised to collect money. We do NOT want to run into problems later on with, say, the income tax authorities or their kin. What is normally done under such circumstances? Do we have to register our group with some authority in order to collect money? What do other LUG's do? I am sure there are precedents to this problem. Please advise. Dynamic Address Mapping/Translation

Hi All, We are trying a project with DAM/DAT(Dynamic Address Mapping/Translation) support for linux. The machine should accept any preconfigured systems on the lan side and route them to the WAN (second ethernet port) like NAT. The LAN machines shouldnt be in the same network range (subnet) like the router/DAM machine, but they need to get internet access. Is there a way to implement a mechanism in linux for mapping those (ip- unknown) clients: for example: [ 192.168.1.200 ] \\ [ 10.100.54.7 ] => [ DAM machine LAN side || WAN side PPPoE ] => { Internet } [ 192.168.0.5 ] // All nodes are direct connected via ethernet. Any solutions ? Someone told me earlier theres a way for that to be done with MAC address routing instead of TCP/IP routing. But i didnt find any solutions about Layer2 to Layer3 Routing except any tunnels (or netbios etc). Thanks. Rukman Naik.
