What I understand is the directories in which MODEPROBE is trying to locate the required module do not have char-major-200 module.
You will have to copy (char-major-200 module) in one of those directories.
Modprobe is "SOMETHING" which resolves interdepencies.
Eg.
If you want to load Module A which in turn depends on Module B.
Then in order to load Module A what is required is to load Module B first.
By using MODPROBE you could load Module A directly and the interdepency is resolved by MODEPROBE.

I want multiple computers to share /var/log/wtmp and log the user login records,
so that when i see single wtmp on the server I can get account of all
computers and servers itself.
Note: should I share users too? by sharing all files related to
/etc/passwd ..... how to do that .... what are those files i just know
passwd and shadow?
Or is there any other way so that I can view log of the login records
of all computers on lan, remotely?
I'm really in need of help, I also tried to search google. Any
specific strings, should I search on google?
Revant
Thanks rajeev for this,
today itself I'll try @my home
hope it should finally work.
good day

Dear Linuxers,
I get an error when I run
#vxconfigd -x9
-x9 makes the app to log its error into /var/log/messages....!
The error it gives is
"modprobe Cant locate char-major-200 module"
char-200-major is associated with all the devices under directory /dev/vx
Any help would be appreciated....!

The delayed Gentoo Linux 2005.0 was finally released
early this morning. As previously announced, Gentoo Linux now defaults
to kernel 2.6 and older kernels are gradually being retired. Apart
from the usual security patches and package upgrades (to kernel
2.6.11, GCC 3.3.5, X.Org 6.8.2, KDE 3.3.2 and GNOME 2.8.1), there seem
to be no ground-breaking new features in Gentoo 2005.0. Despite that,
and despite the effort required to get it up and running, it is hard
to deny that Gentoo Linux is one of the most educational and enjoyable
distributions out there!
Quoted on Official Release "This release has had a few
setbacks including a complete security rebuild, but with the help of
the many teams within the Gentoo developer community, we believe that
this release will be one of the best that we have ever had."
