It will work fine, designwise. If you use an expensive
glossy paper for the cover, it will look much smarter
and give the finished job some stiffness (while the
paper is relatively expensive, it may not add much
real cost if the quantities are small).
Re the earlier suggestion by someone to print 4 or 6
or 8 pages and paste them, there is a technique of
magazine/book assembly where the pages are stuck on
the edge (perfect binding).
There are two ways of doing this: one being that some
service centers have small perfect binding systems
(can't really call them machines) for very small run
corporate brochures and reports, the other is to do it
manually using Fevicol or a cheaper substitute (but
they don't come in nice clean tubes). The perfect
binding systems are better because they use a more
flexible glue.

There has been a lot of discussion of GNU/Linux versus Linux. I am
not clear on one point. It is said that GNU is the operating system
and Linux is the kernel. I have been going through Stallman's essays
and FSF literature for the past few hours and am unable to come up
with an answer to this question:
What precisely are the applications/tools that comprise the GNU
operating system?

Hi All,
One of the non-profits in Chennai that I work with
wants to convert 5 computers from Windows to GNU/Linux
can somebody help them? Helping will involve
installing and configure a GNU/Linux system.
I think that they will need one CD of TheOpenCD
http://www.theopencd.org/download
I am suggesting that they go with Kubuntu, does
anybody have install and live CD for Kubuntu?
Regards,
Krishna

How does that matter? At the rate the 'organised'
world is destroying the earth's natural wealth
(species etc) you think anyone (with enough money to
do something) cares about losing the incomplete
efforts of thousands of sincere people?
Don't forget that the Germans knew how to extract
liquid fuel from coal 60 years ago - we wouldn't have
such disastrous war and suffering if we had easily
available fuel today. What's a better OS compared to
that?

I would like to lodge a strong protest with the admins of ILUG-BOM
over this member's behaviour :
He (she?) has deleted all traces of matter pertaining to decryption of
Pacenet's password and inserted standard sales talk in its place. I
have not undone this as I want to know whether doing so is "illegal"
as the user 'Pacenetrules' claims.
Perhaps we need to get a LUG meet arranged with these fanboys and ISP heads.
Why should users of non-windows opeating systems bend over backwards
to rightfully get what they have paid for?

Hello All,
I am planning to start the DTP process after some days so please provide
your inputs by the next 7 days. Please do check out the last paragraph
on why linux is not popular and check if anything invites trouble from
manufacturers or if anything extra needs to be added. The first
paragraph about contributions and licences appears to be balanced so no
further editing may be required. I am actually going to distribute these
brochures so please help in getting the page contents finalised within a
week. Another important thing is.......what about mentioning this list
in the brochure and do we have any logos to go with it. I want to show
it as a LUG-BOM effort.
