Hello all,
Testing the send/receive to the list after changing the email service provider.
The older one was biased against this list and not sending or receiving mail.
Wish you all a Happy New Year (belated that is).

I checked above URL but there is no RPM.. there are SRPMs but not RPMs.. so
not useful..
However thanks everybody for your response.
Conclusion: Though I use Spacewalk server I need to pay for B & C servers...
I can not redestribute those binaries...
Can we use CentOS repo for that?

Hi,
Scenario: I have one RHEL 5.5 machine (Name A), connected with RHN with
proper credentials.
I also have 2 more servers (B & C) installed with RHEL 4.6 & 5.1 with no
connection to RHN and dont have credentials to connect.
Now can I set such a way that B & C will take updates from A ?
For that what I things I have to configure?

Hi all,
Maybe I'm asking another noob question.
But, wanted to know, how the big companies gain profit who run Free
and Open Source project like Mozilla, Apache, etc.
Of course, even if you are working for Free and Open source projects,
there has to be some income.
I'm hoping for the varieties of views on this.
PS: Apologize for the cross post. Do not include the other mailing
list id if you are not subscribed to it.

Hi all
Is there any easy way to get the description of all packages listed in a
file which contains the names of all such packages?
eg.
i used
sudo dpkg --get-selections >installed-software
to make a list of all installed software packages on my system
However I want to remove some of them in batch mode (from the command line)
instead of by using synaptic and deleting them one by one which is a
cumbersome process. So the description of such packages is needed in
another file containing a subset of names of packages likely to be removed.
How can this be done ?
Kussh

Hey all,
Sorry for the late notice -- wasn't sure if it would be appropriate to
post here - we're organizing an event tomorrow all day (10:15 AM onward)
at the Max Mueller Bhavan at Kala Ghoda, entitled "Properties of the
Autonomous Archive". It is a coming together of a few internet archival
platforms as well as other groups with archival material / talking about
forms of online / digital archival processes, with a focus on 'autonomy',
open-source, etc.
Some more details and schedule for the event here:
http://camputer.org/event.php?id=117
Would be great to have more people into software / tech at the event, so
please do make it if it sounds interesting to you.
Thanks, and feel free to email me off-list if there are any questions.
