could not delete directory

Hi! I am trying to delete directory with the following name --(a)app.7 (which is autogenerated by amavis) but when I am trying to delete it with rm -rf command it gives me error : rm: unrecognized option '--(a)app.7' how to delete this directory ?? A C factorial Problem

HI friends I was experimenting with a common c factorial problem when I got a totally unexpected result. here is the program # include <stdio.h> main(){ int fact; int x; fact=factorial(6); printf ("%i\n",fff()); } int factorial(int x){ if(x>1) return(x*factorial(x-1)); } int fff () { ; } Naturally I was expecting 1 as the answer. But I am getting the answer 720 which is 6!. If I comment the 5th line fact=factorial(6); I am getting the expected result "1". The normal explanation for this is memory leak. Can anyone please tell me what is happening and are you too getting the same result. I am using redhat linux 7.3 with gcc 2.96 regards Abhijeet D Mhatre

[OT] Latex... should I use it?

Hi! I recently submitted my proj synopsis, over which the examiner was not at all impressed (spacing,indentation,et al...) We had done the thing in Microsoft Word format ( I used Star Office while my colleagues Microsoft Office ) I researched a little and found out that groff and Latex are great doc formatting (typesetting ?) tools. Also I discovered that mostly Latex is preferred over groff. Now I've learnt Latex a little. However the pdf file I create (with the help of dvips and ps2pdf) looks very crappy in acrobat reader. Ghostview however displays the thing quite well. Is this normal? Has anyone tried Latex and stuff ? Most probably we would print the project on a Windows machine ( i guess very few DTP vendors have Linux as of yet :( ). One of my friends told me that pdf files do not print quite well as compared with Microsoft Word files. Is this correct? I'm in a fix. I'm beginning to like Latex. But at the same time I would not like to face problems with the printing and stuff. Has anyone made his/her synopsis/report/article in Latex ? Is there any other good doc formatting system? Hello FN, How about having a contest on framing Business models based on Free Software. I am sure we can rope in some sponsors and then get them to foster the young minds to build a feasible buisiness model based on FSF/OS. Lemme know if this interests you. hallo sir i copied one file from system to floppy.in the same system itself i opened the floppy. the file is in floppy.but when i put the floppy in another system and while opening the floppy the file is not there.it gives the following message. "it has read only option" please anybody answer
