Gnuers.....;)
Its time to wake up and go ahead with another round of workshops
across the state. Commercial ones in bombay we have to work out too.
Wakeup.....wakeup.

My swap is 4 times the RAM still i also face the same problem...
Hi
I got to know that there are non-free applications bundled along with
Knoppix CD. Does anyone know if there is a variant of Knoppix? I figured it
would be easier to just download and use / distribute that instead of
removing the non-free packages from the Knoppix CD and creating one myself.
Apparently RMS told me a few days back that the 'vrms' tool does not
guarantee the results to be 100% true since it purely depends on the deb
package maintainer.

Hiyee Manoj,
Thanks for writing in.
Its a great idea and a very noble deed indeed to have to spawn a
forum where all like minded participants can come together towards
discussing Free Software and Open Source related issues.
The begginning could be made by having a mailing list hosted at
yahoogroups for a start. Post the innaugration of the same we could
help you to move the mailing list to a better location. The e-group
could be named "GLEN" or Gnu Enthusiasts Group of Nanded.
Think about the same and enure you spend sometime reading up on the
philsosophies of Open Source and Free Software at
www.gnu.org/www.fsf.org and www.opensource.org.
We will be there with you along the way toward help building your
community and supporting it all through the way.

Announcing the release of version 1.0 of getmail.comhttp://sourceforge.net/projects/getmail-com/Getmail.com downloads email from a mail.com account. It uses HTTP to log
in to your account, get the inbox listing, and download messages along
with attachments. Login name, password, and maximum message size can be
specified through the interface or in the configuration file. It does
not delete messages or look in folders other than Inbox.
Caveats:
The configuration file is called .gmcom.rc and is in your home
directory. The program will prompt you to create it if it does not
exist.
The password is stored as plain text in the file, but the file's
permissions are 0600 (-rw-------), so only you can read it.
You may edit the file and delete any parameter from it. The program
will either prompt you for it, or choose a default value (if it can).
The file will be written only if it does not exist.

It's on sourceforge, so go download it.
http://libyahoo2.sourceforge.net/
Changes: auth fixed
ext_remove_handler takes two parameters - the tag returned by
add_handler and the client_id.
Also note that I've decided to stop releasing rpms. It made no sense
since anyone using this library would have to build it as part of his
own project anyway.
Yes, it would be cool if it were distributed as a separate library, but
I don't see that happening.

I've noticed several design suggestions in your code.
Sameer D. Sahasrabuddhe asked me :
>When you say GUI mode, which desktop, and window manager are you
>actually running?
>Which terminal emulator are you using? What services and applications
>were currently loaded when you started the terminal?
>I doubt that ... what is your machine configuration? How much physical

I am using RHL9, It's default WM and KDE as desktop.
The system is a standard desktop installation.
I mentioned a small utility such as a terminal emulator just as an example.
Large utilities like Mozilla & OpenOffice take ages to open.
The M/C is a P4 @1.6GHz, 128MB SDRAM, 40GB Seagate HDD. Size of the Swap
partition is 256MB (approx).

please check if your /etc/resolv.conf file is empty
it is supposed to contain the ip addresses of dns nameservers
in the following format
nameserver <ip-addr>
nameserver <ip-addr>
please provide the ip-addr of vsnl/mtnl dns nameservers (or any other isp
that you are using).
then try connecting to the net.
hope that helps!

Hi,
I use Reliance phone thru a USB data cable to connect to the
internet on my Red Hat 9 system.
Recently I have upgraded to kernel 2.6.1. However now i cannot connect
to internet via my Reliance phone.
the script for the connection is:
pppd /dev/ttyUSB0 230400 debug usepeerdns defaultroute connect
'/usr/sbin/chat -v "" at+cta=30 OK "atdt#777" CONNECT' mtu 264.
Also when i try to communicate with dev ttyUSB0 i get error : No such device
I have built a monolithic kernel with UHCI support and USB serial support.
