My dad and sis in Bombay are having trouble booting into linux. They
tell me that the system hangs when it comes to loading modules.
At some point in the last month CMOS got reset and it started giving
floppy drive errors (I don't have a floppy drive). A friend fixed the
BIOS, and windows can boot, but linux won't go past the loading modules
part.
I need to ask a big favour. Someone who thinks they can fix this will
have to drop in to Bandra and try and fix it. I'm available if you need
to ask anything, but I'm not sure when I'll next be in Mumbai to test
things.
I really don't like the idea of them connecting to the net through
windows, and most of what they need to do is through linux, so I really
need someone to help fast.
Thanks,
Philip
