Dear Vaibhav,
As far I know,
For example if U add this in /etc/resolv.conf
search redhat.com
it would mean that when U want to place a query like
ping mail.redhat.com
due to the addition of the search keyword in
resov.conf
U could just type
ping mail
it would automatically ping
mail.redhat.com
Due to the ' search ' keyword it appends queried
hostname to the domain mentioned next to search to
every query U make
Correct me If I am wrong ...
Always waiting to upgrade myself ..
Hope I am of some Help
Regards,
Shailesh

Hi All,
This sure is a too fundamental a question, and I could
not get an
understandable answer, hence I am seeking help here.
What is the meaning of "search foo.com" & "domain
foo.com" in
resolv.conf
resolv.conf contains a list of NS <as provided by
ISPs> which will do
domain to IP lookup... so then what will searched on
foo.com ??
Diff. betwee search foo.com & domains foo.com
Trying to set my fundas correct... No flames pls.
Thank you.

OK: So tried installing wxPython. (on an FC3)
wxPython2.6-devel-gtk2-ansi-2.6.0.0-fc2_py2.3.i386.rpm
Failed dependencies:
wxPython2.6-gtk2-ansi = 2.6.0.0 is needed by (i installed this)
WxPython2.6-devel-gtk2-ansi-2.6.0.0-fc2_py2.3.i386
Failed depedencies:
wxPython-common-gtk2-unicode-2.5.5.1-fc2_py2.3.i386.rpm
(installed this)
But when i try and install wxPython2.5-devel-*
i continue to get the message as above.
wxPython2.6-gtk2-ansi = 2.6.0.0 is needed by
wxPython2.6-devel-gtk2-ansi-2.6.0.0-fc2_py2.3.i386
Any clues?

Nope. But then some miseries naturally follow others - like opinions
following Reliance mcap which boils faster than oil prices from
40000 cr. to 100000 cr (at least in the press releases).
At this rate we should hand over ourselves the Ambanis who will have
eliminated poverty in a jiffy.

The last line is necessary methinks, considering various opinions
being expressed by members of Reliance, which of necessity do
not reflect those of the other opinions being so expressed.
