hello sir, i wan tot join this group and oi have been attending seminars held at various places since last few time(last one at the iit, powai). i am really intersted ot subscribe to this community. as being a management student, i m entitled to do a 100 marks project . i have chosen the topic of open source software for businesses. as im unable to find the stats regardin the use of open source sofware in india on net i would like if somebody would really provide me with the above in formation. i will really appreciate that and duly acknowledge him. i end here to expect a positive response from you . i thank u in anticipation. -- there are somethings that money cant buy, but its funny -have u tried them buying them without money?

single user mode

Hi all, I am a newbie on the list.I have a query regard= ing logging into single user mode in Linux.The root password can be changed= by logging in into single user mode in linux.But I guess there surely must= be a way to prevent this, coz if that is not the case then anyone can get into a single user mode n change the root passwd n have access to the syste= m.I want to know wot is the way out to prevent a user from logging into sin= gle user mode n change the root passwd.
