Sify Hosting Problem

Hello friends, I am using Sify and am facing problems with hosting a server and logging in remotely. In fact, people cant even ping my IP! I know this is because of the proxy/NAT that Sify has set up in my area. I though am not aware of the details of this. Accessing tape device on remote machine.

I have a tape device(/dev/st0) attached on a debian system. I want to accessthis tape from another linux machine. I can do mt related command using ssh from other machine. But I am not able to use rdump and rrestore to this tape drive from other machine. When I give command rrestore -if abcd.res.in:/dev/st0 It gives abcd.res.in: connection refused login to abcd.res.in as root is failed. I have entered proper entries in ~user/.rhosts and /etc/equiv. Can anybody help on this. Can anybody suggest expert opinion. Regards, Santosh K

I am thinking of going in for the new combo offer of MTNL which bundles broadband w/ local telephony. >From the discussions on the list (which I only skimmed over) what I need to do is connect the adsl modem to my pc using ethernet and configure the card to use DHCP. Thats a great idea!.. we see so many mails about availablity of CD's, if we could put up a simple list with contact details etc, it could be avoided.. but we also got to make sure it remains up-to date.. else we would be back to the mailing list..
