Hi Friends,
Here is a very basic question about delivering content in Unicode on web. Though I don't read and write telugu I would like to deliver content using PHP/MySQL.
Any pointers on how to deliver regional languages through a web browsers would be a great help.
Cheers

Speaking about handling Indian Langauge content. PHP has support to handle Unicode, so does any other scripting language, PERL, Python. MySQL >> 4.01 can store scripts natively in Unicode. PostgreSQl also handles scripts in Unicode. Now the question of content delivery, the servers [Apache, Jboss, zope..] it doesn't for it, since it just serves the data (file's irrespective of the encoding it is in).
Most of the CMS [LAMP] based handle indic content. http://www.joomlaindia.org/prod/ is one of the good example. Now comes the question, How do i put in content, you cld either use your OS input methods like SCIM, IIIMF or XKB. or use the web based Indic input methods , https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=144879&package_id... and there also other input methods, one by Surekha Satry and Srinivas Raghavan, Not sure the URL, But I guess Dinesh of servelots cld help :-)

I'm not sure what you mean by Content delivery to do with Browsers, Most of bowsers render unicode properly, even mozilla does it. The printing issue isn't resolved with Mozilla. Opera is the best of the lot when it come to rendering and printing Indic content.

As I don't read/write any Indian language I take help of other who use MS Windows XV to do this job. Will there be any trouble using the input methods on Windows platform. And what kind of editor they can use?

Would my user require to install any specific fonts or character set to view this content on their browser.
My users are neither young nor technical skilled except for launching a browser and surfing the net.
