resource person needed for a latex workshop in august

Hi R.V.College of Engineering, Bangalore wants to conduct a one day workshop ( already one two day workshop was conducted a year back) looking for a person who can take up this dates for the workshop : august 10th or 11th of august duration : one day ( 8 hours including lunch and tea duration ) Maximum number of participants : 20 lecturers / Research Associates we are looking forward for the proposal , so if any one is interested to take up -- please mail me your proposal ( off the list) i will be forwarding the proposals and later our HOD/principal /director will accept then you will get a call ( hope you can understand the process) regards renukaprasad

Request feedback - Note on Inter-operability issues with Nudi

Dear All, One of the biggest impediments for FOSS adoption by government of Karnataka is that Nudi does not work on GNU/Linux. In a recent discussion, some of us from IT for Change brought this concern to the notice of Srikanth Nadhamuni who is a member of the core committee set up by Government of Karnataka to develop a egovernance road-map for the state. Mr.Nadhamuni has asked to us to submit a note on the inter-operability concerns with Nudi. I have prepared a draft note and uploaded it on the FSUG wiki. Request all of you to please review the note and make any necessary modifications to the note. Once the note is complete, we can submit it to the government. I have uploaded the note here - http://bangalore.gnu.org.in/index.php/FSUG-Bangalore:Nudi_Issues Please feel free to also add on any other thoughts/suggestions on this matter. At the end of the day, we want a government approved solution which is free and open and lets us use Kannada, independent of platform (and which also helps take care of the earlier/archival documents on earlier versions of Nudi). Dear All, I just spoke to Ms.Dakshayini of DSERT who has confirmed that the circular is on its way to the teachers. We will have a total of approximately 25 participants from 8 schools . The training will be from 1.30am to 5.30pm on all the three days - Jul 16, 17, 18. Request the trainers and volunteers to come in by 9.00 am sharp to the venue on Jul 16th. We need to meet and discuss the plan for the day and also check the machines/projector etc. The following still need to get sorted out - * Training Material - We still also do not have the material in english and kannada. Request Vikram to please co-ordinate with Om Shivapralash of Sampada for the Kannada material and please also get the English Material. * Final contents for the training - Naveen has mentioned that this will be up on the wiki tonight. Naveen, please do put it up tonight. * List of volunteers and trainers - Again, Naveen hope this comes online tonight. Vikram - Request you to please co-ordinate the items above and ensure we are on track. Call for volunteers for Karnataka ICT@School Project

Hi everyone, FSUG-Bangalore is volunteering for the programme, Karnataka ICT(a)School.The goal of this project is to train the school teachers to use GNU/Linux in their schools. At the moment a pilot project has been planned, where 51 people have to be trained. The pilot project is taken up in 2 phases. The first phase being held on 9th, 10th and 11th of July and phase 2 being held on 16th, 17th and 18th of July 2009. It will be very helpful if you guys can volunteer for this project.
